Now diving into the gameplay mechanics of Nexus War, the game requires the players to hunt down and defeat Astras so as to conquer their home planet, Origin Star. Every player is provided with a City of their own which they need to rebuild and restore to its original phase. The City is protected by the City Wall. As the players move ahead through the chapter tasks, the World Map is revealed and the players can progress with their galactic journey. The City Hall is the main factor of the City and it influences the growth of other structures. The city buildings cannot be of a higher level than the City Hall.

When it comes to combat, the players have to deploy their trained soldiers and heroes keeping in mind the suitability of the Heroes with the army type. The game will direct the players towards a red sign indicating the threat of an unexpandable and captured plot inside their City. The players just need to select the targetted red area or the Astra and click on Attack to send the deployed Heroes and their units to defeat the creature. The deployed army units will automatically fight the enemy once the player begins the warfare and win against them based on their skill sets and capabilities, without the player handling them manually.
