CAPE TOWN: Marcus Stoinis and Noor Ahmad bagged three wickets each to script Durban’s Super Giants’ 36-run victory over home side MI Cape Town in the 16th match of the SA20 here on Tuesday.

Put into bat first, the Super Giants registered a commendable total of 157/6 on the board on a tricky surface, courtesy of Matthew Breetzke’s 46, followed by Wiaan Mulder’s quickfire cameo.

The visitors had a shaky start to their innings as they were reduced to 23/2 in 2.4 overs after Tony de Zorzi (20) and Quinton de Kock (11) fell victim to George Linde on the consequent deliveries.

JJ Smuts then joined Breetzke in the middle and they soon anchored the innings with a cautious 46-run partnership which lasted in the 10th over with Thomas Kaber removing the former.

He remained the top-scorer for the Super Giants with a gritty 48 off 46 deliveries, laced with three boundaries and two sixes.

Mulder, on the other hand, carried his bat all the way through and bolstered the team’s total.

He scored an unbeaten 38 off just 20 deliveries with the help of six boundaries.
